Carol specializes in the treatment of infants, children, adolescents, and teenagers using the healing power of play and traditional discussion therapy. She has been a Naples resident since 1983, and has had extensive experience in the mental health area. She worked as a teaching assistant at ''Step By Step”, a preschool for children with special needs. Carol worked for Collier County Public Schools in the Teenage Parenting Program (TAPP) where she taught Parenting classes and case-managed pregnant and parenting students. She later became District Coordinator for Peer Mediation and Conflict Resolution programs in the Collier Schools. Carol was a children's counselor at the Shelter for Abused Women, facilitating support groups for children who had witnessed domestic violence. Most recently Carol was a bereavement counselor for Hospice of Naples, providing counseling and support groups for grieving children and adults. Carol graduated with High Honors from Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, Massachusetts with a B.A. in Psychology, and received a Masters in Social Work from Barry University in Miami Shores, Florida in 1991. Carol obtained her license as a Florida Clinical Social Worker in 1995. She is a Registered Play Therapist and Registered Play Therapist supervisor (RPT-S) with the Association for Play Therapy. In 2008 Carol completed a training certificate in Infant Mental Health at the Miami Institute for Child and Family Health. Carol is a member of the Association for Play Therapy (National and Florida), the National Association of Social Workers, and Sigma Xi Honor Society for Scientific Research. Carol is married and has two children in college. |
